Dear Friends,
 
With the help and co-operation of all of you we successfully hosted the inaugural Sohar Corporate Cricket tournament-2010 on Friday, 12th Nov. 2010. The event was planned and executed by the Sports committee of ISC, Sohar led by Mr Nell Vaz and Dr Mahesh Mistry. They recieved tremendous help apart from others from Mr. Sikander, Mr. Ilyaas and Mr. Akeel. ISC, Sohar is grateful to them for helping out.
 
The tournament was well supported by Al Nahdha group of companies, Godrej Khimji, Zubair Automotives, Nagarjuna Construction Company, Falcon Services, Saud Bahwan Automobiles, Crowne Plaza Hotel and Muscat Pharmacy. We are thankful to all our sponsors for helping us out.
 
A record 32 corporate teams took part in the event. These many numbers was the first for any such tournament in Oman played over one day. 31 matches were played starting from 7 am when the first match started till 12 midnight when the final ended. The final was won by L & T, MFY in a keenly contested match with Al Jazeera Steel. Hopefully this will be an annual tournament.
 
We are hopeful of organizing more such events in the future. We are looking for ideas on what all events to conduct. Please do not hesistate to call me or send an e-mail with your suggestion.
 
If anybody has any contact with any cultural or dance troupe back in India or has the capability to conduct a Quiz or an Antakhshiri competition do let us know. We encourage everyone to help us out.
 
In the immediate future we have a members-only picnic coming up strictly for ISC, Sohar members. Non-members will not be permitted to join. So if you are not members please enrol yourself and get ready to have fun. Membership forms can be downloaded from our website www.iscsohar.com

Comptition Announcement

A Corporate Cricket tournament is announced to be held on 12th November 2010 in the playing field next to Safeer. The tournament will be a 6 over a side game. A maximum of 16 teams will be allowed to take part in the tournament. The teams will get entry on first come first serve basis, and teams which give their entry fee first will get first preference for participation. So rush to submit your entries.

Entry fee of each Corporate Team is R.O 50/-.
I.D's of corporate team members will be checked to make sure they are from the same company.

The day will be a family day out with games, prizes, on the house lunch and will be full of fun filled activities.
