ISC, Sohar Election - 2018 Notice.

The term of this Executive Committee formed in 2016 will expire soon. As per the Article of Association & as mandated by the Ministry of Social Development an election process has been put in place to elect a new Executive Committee for the year 2018 & 2019.

The Presiding Officer of the election will be Mr Abraham George, CEO, Godrej & Khimji, Sohar (Mobile no.: 99346344). He will be assisted by Mr Ajay Damani, Branch Manager, Muscat Pharmacy, Sohar (Mobile no.: 99260449). The General Secretary of the club Mr. Rajesh Kondala (99385148) will co-ordinate the election process with the Presiding officers.

1. Election will take place for a 12 member Executive Committee. It is mandatory to have one lady member in the Executive Committee.
2. The 12 candidates who secure the highest number of votes of those polled will be declared elected to the Executive Committee.
3. The tenure of the Executive Committee will be for a 2 year term i.e. for 2018 & 2019.
4. The 12 member Executive Committee will decide amongst themselves about the various office bearers for the day to day functioning of the club.
5. Election date has been fixed for Friday, 16th March 2018 from 6 pm to 9 pm in Al Nahdha Garden (Tareef) in the temporary office of Indian Social Club, Sohar.
6. The election will take place as per the Article of Association of Indian Social Club, Sohar.
7. In case of any doubts, complaints etc. the Presiding Officer decision will be final.
8. The Presiding Officer will have a casting vote in case of a tie.
9. The election will be conducted under the supervision of Indian Social Club, Oman as per the rules of the Ministry of Social Development, Sultanate of Oman.
10. All those members who have completed 2 year continuous membership of Indian Social Club, Sohar as on 31st Dec. 2017 will be eligible to stand for election to the Executive Committee.
11. All those members who are on the rolls of the club as of 31st Dec. 2017 will be eligible to vote, propose or second a candidate. The full members list is on our website and also displayed on the official notice board in Al Nahdha Garden in the temporary office of Indian Social Club, Sohar. The notice board can be accessed between 6 pm and 8 pm everyday.
12. Any member who intends to stand for election or proposes or seconds a candidate must have paid their dues / renewed their membership for 2018 on or prior to the last date of filing of the nomination form which is Friday, 16th February 2018. The nomination is liable to be rejected if the same is not done.
13. All those members intending to vote must have also paid their dues on or by the date of the election i.e. 16th March 2018. Only those members who have paid their dues / renewed their membership for 2018 will be allowed to vote.
14. Members must bring their Civil I.D card / Passport on the day of voting to prove identity.
15. In case of family membership either of the spouse can vote. But only one vote per family will be allowed.
16. In case of family membership either of the spouse can stand for election if the membership is for more than 2 years. Both spouses cannot stand for election.
17. No proxy voting will be allowed.
18. The election will be preceded by an AGM of Indian Social Club, Sohar at 5 pm on Friday 16th March 2018 in Al Nahdha Garden where audited accounts for 2017 will be presented.

• Last date of submission of the application / nomination form : Friday, 16th February 2018.
• Display of names of the candidates                                         : Friday, 23rd February 2018.
• Last date for withdrawl of candidature                                    : Friday, 2nd March 2018.
• Display of final list of candidates                                             : Friday, 9th March 2018
• Date of polling                                                                         : Friday 16th March 2018.

The application form for the election to the post of Executive Committee member of ISC, Sohar is available for downloading from the Election 2018 section of our website www.iscsohar.com or from the Presiding Officer. You can also mail the request to isc.sohar@gmail.com for the application form.

The completed application form along with copy of valid passport, copy of Civil ID card (both sides) and 2 passport photos have to be handed over to Mr Abraham George (99346344), CEO, Godrej & Khimji LLC, Road 2A, Sohar Industrial Estate, Sohar or to Mr Ajay Damani, (99260449), Branch Manager, Muscat Pharmacy, Humbar, Sohar on or before the last date of application i.e. Friday 16th February 2018.

Membership for 2018 can be renewed by paying the renewal fee of R.O 15 for family and R.O 7 for single membership to our finance team of Mr Mahadevan (95223134) or to Mr Ravindran Rambadran (95043265) or to any Executive Committee member.
